Cache In Trash Out (CITO) event, organised for the
14th Geocaching International CITO week in April 2016.
Cache In Trash Out is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers around the world have been dedicated to improving parks and other cache-friendly places. Through these volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources!
Geocachers around the world celebrate International Cache In Trash Out weekend annually by hosting and participating in Cache In Trash Out Events in their local area. Events might be focused on litter clean-up, removal of invasive species, re-vegetation efforts or building trails. Together, we make an enormous positive impact. Did we mention that we also have a bit of fun while we're at it?
The week of April 16th till 24th is the 14th Geocaching International CITO anniversary. There will be hundreds of CITO events taking place all over the World on these four days. All those who log "attended" will earn a 14th Anniversary CITO Souvenir in their profile.
DO NOT GO TO THE HEADLINE COORDINATES!
They point to the Geocache centroid in Bulgaria.
Instead through the week go geocaching to the favourite destination in your area
and don't forget to bring some garbage bags, gloves and litter pickers with you.
Pictures of you or your local teams are not required to log this event,
however will be most welcome.
Happy CITOing!
