Wild hiking cache to Morro de sa Vaca

Go to the beach of Sa Caldobra and go into the canyon. Before you reach the first deep pool you can see a big overhang on your left and the stonewall of an old path on a wall to your right (WP1) . Go up a few meters and turn left under an old tree with a cairn. Climb down a rocky step and start crossing the wall until you reach a fixed rope which helps you over a steep wall. Follow the cairns to a scree slope and ascend it (be careful not to kick down any rocks). Another rope leads to reach a rocky ramp and after a short climb to the left you are standing in a notch next to a rock tower with a great view to the beach below. Climb the wall to your right and follow the ledge until you reach the grasslands above the walls. At WP2 the path splits: the upper cairns lead to the Mirador des Pare Rafel (worth visiting on the way back) and further to the Quarter de Carabiners but we are following the lower path to a flat saddle with a dead tree (WP3). Go north into a shallow valley where you should find cairns and a rather good path which crosses the cliffs at an old fence (WP4). Go down into the saddle of Coll des Bancalet and then steeply up to Morro de sa Vaca. There isn't much of a path on the last ascent but there are many stone cairns. Enjoy the view and return the same way you came.

You need mountain boots, have a good head for heights and some climbing experience. Take enough water with you - there are no springs along the way. Time needed 4-6h. You can find a track and more pictures here. Good maps of the area are published by Editorial Alpina
