Geocache Description:

This cache was set to help teach church community members about geocaching. It is part of a series, set with permission by the faith communities at each location.

Julian of Norwich Anglican Church was formed on September 27th 2015, from the amalgamation of St Michael and All Angels, and St Richard’s Anglican churches, in the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa (Ontario, Canada). The church is named after Julian of Norwich, who was born in 1342. We don’t know her real name; she was named after St Julian’s Church in Norwich (England). Julian devoted her life to God and to prayer and she lived in a small room attached to St Julian’s Church where people would visit her looking for advice, spiritual wisdom, and comfort during hard times. Julian was a mystic and a contemplative and she is the first woman to have written a published book in the English-speaking world.
