Geocache Description:


Seager Wheeler Park in Westview is named after the King of Wheat. Seager Wheeler was born in Isle of Wight England and emigrated to Saskatchewan in 1885, the year of the NW Rebellion. After five years, Seager applied for his homestead at the Maple Grove location 7 km east of Rosthern. There, he developed dryland farming techniques, equipment and various wheat and fruit strains for the Saskatchewan environment. Seager Wheeler was inducted in the Saskatchewan Agriculture Hall of Fame which is housed at the Western Development Museum in Saskatoon.
