Children's Lit: The Wall Mystery Cache

When I first thought of this series, I thought it would  be easy.  Just make a list of my favorite children's books and find a place to hide a cache.  I didn't realize I had so many favorites.  I narrowed the list down.  Still too many so I decided to feature picture books.  Most of the books in this series are favorites that I've read to children when I worked in the library at an elementary school.

THE WALL written by Eve Bunting and illustrated by Robert Himler

   This is the story of a  young boy and his father who visit the Vietnam Veteran's Memoral in Washington D.C. to find the name of the boys Grandfather. 

   To quote a review of the book, "The restrained yet moving picture book deals with the lasting impact of the Vietnam war." 

    I have to confess, I have never read this book to a child or group of children, there's too much emotion involved but it is one of my favorite books.
