Geocache Description:

A quick cache and dash in the Splott area of Cardiff on one of the many bridges that span the Great Western railway line from London through Cardiff and on to Swansea.

I am sorry to say the cache is small, so no room for swaps and as usual you need to bring your own pen, on the plus side it should not be to difficult.

If you are going to do this as a cache & dash Pearl St or Railway street are good places to park but be aware of the residents parking bays.

Please don't expect a wonderful view because You won't get one, However the two remaining plaques that give information about the bridge could be considered a thing of beauty (If you like that sort of thing).

Work is now being done to electrify the line as The South Wales Main Line is one of the last of the major inter-city routes in Great Britain to remain un-electrified.

As part of this works the neighbouring 'Windsor road' bridge has been demolished and is being rebuilt, Work started in January 2015 and is due to be completed in summer 2016, that is over a year to build a bridge, the army can build a bridge in a day but as I have never built a bridge who am I to question the length of time it takes!!! I hope they don't do the same with this bridge

The Bridge has now been demolished so the cache has re-located south of where the bridge used to be.

Congratulations on NursePuke on a quick First to find.
