Congratulations on a full 18 cache series joint FTF to the inimitable pairing of Bessieboots and WFG !
In the field in front of you, after any snow, we used to sledge each winter for hours on end. At the bottom of the hill there wasn't a full wall as there is now but a barbed wire fence.... this often made for some urgent braking manouevres or occasionally a nasty gash or a ripped pair of trousers. H & S was unheard of then so we quite often limped home after a hard day's play :) .
Direction hint to OSG04 : From here follow path behind houses to stile, once over stile up hill to left, move along to what seems you are walking into the drive of a large private house, once at bottom of drive look for FP going up the hill to your left towards a bridge.
This series is a self indulgence as it takes a trail around my old stamping grounds as a child. As I was born and bred in Stacksteads walking this route brought back lots of happy memories for me. I hope you have a pleasant time hunting and admiring the views as you go. None of these caches are particularly difficult, so they would be ideal for a family hunt. The only essential equipment needed will be a pen :) The route is approximately 5 miles long and should take 2 – 3 hours. There are no particularly steep climbs, but the paths are boggy in places so wellingtons or boots are advisable.
