This is a series of puzzle caches based upon the UCI World Tour. Each puzzle builds on the next and they will get increasingly more challenging as you progress through the series. The puzzles will lead to a trail of caches along official cycle routes and therefore are best done by bike. The caches are small and will not contain swaps but could cope with a small TB or geocoin.
According to Cyclingstage.com (some other sites disagree so use Cyclingstage.com!) Stage 5 of the 2015 Giro d’Italia went from La Spezia to Abetone. The peloton cycled by six road signs mounted on the same posts. I have used lower case letters for the numbers you have to identify to avoid confusion with the actual letters used in the road numbers.
The top sign reads Pisa a0 SS1. The next two direct traffic towards SXXXXXA and AXXXXA. Both are signed via the SS1. The first is b kms from the sign and the second is 2 kms from the sign. The 4th sign from the top signs the Acd to Genova and Livorno. The 5th sign the Ace to Parma. The final sign the SS1 to XX XXXXXX which is f kms from the sign.
Add (f+c)a to the Northing for stage 24.
Subtract c(e-c)(b+c) from the Westing for stage 24.

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
As it's a bike race based series of puzzles I've been running a series of jersey competitions. These are the jerseys:
1) Green Sprinters Jersey currently worn by Geo_Bro
2) Polkdot KOM Jersey currently worn by Geo_Bro
3) Combativity Jersey currently worn by Tom Dumiiinee
There will also be the following additional Jerseys awarded
4) Maglia Rosa for the first person to find the Giro D'Italia cache which will be one of the final caches in the series
5) Maillot Jaune for the first person to find the Tour De France cache which will be one of the final caches in the series
6) Maillot Rojo for the first person to find the Vuelta a España cache which will be one of the final caches in the series
7) The Rainbow Stripes jersey for the first person to find the Final Stage of the Tour de Monde
N.B. The caches come out singly because of the house of cards nature of the set up. Any error would render all later puzzles unsolvable. The Landsbanki Uncertainty Principle states that I'm very prone to errors in my puzzle caches.
