Each of the people in this series were born (MADE) in Germany. Later in life they immigrated to the USA and became citizens of America. Many of them had a great influence on the USA and the rest of the world. I hope that each person who completes this series learns a little bit more about how our two countries, German and The United States of America, are forever connected.

I had two brothers.

In 1940 I joined the Algemeine SS.
In 1944 I was arrested by the Gestapo for being a communist sympathizer. I was released on orders from Adolph Hitler after it was realized that the important work I was doing could not continue without me. Albert Speer, though exempting me from prosecution, believed my release would have dire consequences.
In April of 1945 my brother rode his bicycle to the American forces located in Reutte and surrendered on the spot.
I was taken to the United States in 1945 as part of Operation Paperclip.
