Boone Pond Series #21 - One of Many

In October, 2014,Dam Seepage was discovered in the earthen section of Boone Dam. The seepage is a cause of sink holes and irregular bedrock known as "karst", which form voids with erosion ... As a result, TVA was forced into draining Boone Lake to an extreme low level for safety reasons. A 3-stage plan is in place but will take 5-7 years and $200-300 million to have a permanent fix. Many people are discouraged about the news, don't blame them, but it is what it is.... A small group of us are throwing out a silver lining here. Placing some here and there, on or around some new acreage that will be available now for at least a half a decade. When the Lake is back in working order, we can archive or leave them for people to dive after :) An invitation is extended to all area cachers to contribute to the series in new hides anywhere on the exposed acreage, just throw in the next number of the series to keep it rolling.

#21

Here's a little Got Fossils? action to the Boone Pond Series. Cache is only accessible by water. Do not attempt by land. You will be searching a small rocky beach area along the pond. You will see instantly how this cache got its name. The cache is a small. BYOP. FTF gift included. Happy hunting and happy boating.
