What a lovely road to ride up into the foothills of the Coromandel. Fantastic views on the way back down but nowhere to turn a car or to safely park except the turning circle at the end, which has a house very near to it, and here.
I stopped for a cup of tea and a picnic and a gaze at the river. It looks like it may be a swimming hole in summer but no one here today.
If you park at the end of the road there is a cache at the end of a forest trail for the hardier amongst us.
