This is the fourth cache. It's just off the sandy path at the edge of an open area of grassland. The cache is a hidden film canister. Stealth may be needed. Sorry about the nettles!
The nearby open area is a good example of species-rich dune grassland. It is packed full of interesting wild flowers including several species of orchid. We manage it by mowing once in the autumn and removing all the clippings to keep the soil thin and sandy which is best for the sand-loving wild flowers.
Rabbits graze the area in small numbers too.
The clippings from mowing are piled quite near this cache and over several years stinging nettles have thrived on the richer damp soil next to the heap.
