Geocachers of all ages and experiences are invited to the Explore the Shores Geotrail Kick-off! Join the hunt for finds around the Atwood Lake Region from 3-5pm on Saturday, May 14. Meet at Atwood Lake Boats Marina West at 9298 Atwood Lake Rd. NE, Mineral City, OH 44656 to share stories, search for temporary caches along the shore and trail, enjoy refreshments, and discover trackables. While temporary caches are not for logging on geocaching.com, we will provide information about the area's 14 permanent caches and information about the area's resources for everyone to explore. Plus, earn tickets towards door prizes and more!
Bring a blanket or camp chairs to relax and enjoy the lake shore. This is a family-friendly event and staff will be on hand to explain geocaching to beginners. At 5pm, we will officially kick-off the Explore the Shores Geotrail with passports and geocache coordinates. We will have two laptops available to load the coordinates to your GPS. If your GPS requires a special cable for loading, please remember to bring it along. We will also have hard copies of the coordinates available.

Explore Atwood Lake and its surrounding area while discovering 11 geocaches. Visit all 11 geocache locations, sign the log, and complete the passport. Download the passport here. Return the passport to Atwood Lake Park or the Lighthouse Bistro to claim a custom geocoin! Geocoins are trackable at geocaching.com and limited to the first 200 completed passports (one per household).
