This location is the Te Ranga area. I was a new entrant teacher at the local school at the time I placed this cache, and worked therewith some gorgeous children for nearly 10 years. Where the cache has been placed is where the old Te Ranga Community Hall used to sit before it was resited next to Te Ranga school a little further up the road in 1995. There are stories of dances where young men and women in the community used to ride their horses to the hall, then ride home again under cover of darkness. The surrounding land has some beautiful pockets of native bush, fabulous views out to sea, and green rolling paddocks for miles. Te Matai road goes upwards from State Highway 2 and is an alternative route to get to Rotorua or Tauranga. The cache container is big enough for one small trackable or a few swapables and has a logbook, a small pencil and a sharpener at the time of placement. Because of the rural feel to this place a cute cow trackable was added called "Moove me".
