When looking for this geocache, bring a pen and be respectful, because, after all, you are right by active cemeteries. Both Calvary and Bellefontaine are open Monday through Saturday, Bellefontaine Sunday as well, although you will not need to actually go inside the cemeteries. Calvary and Bellefontaine Cemeteries, which border the road, are fenced in, but this cache is located on the road that bisects the two. Calvary Avenue is 0.6 miles long, and while there is a sidewalk on Calvary Cemetery’s side, there is also room on either side of the occasionally busy road to park and walk.
While you may not catch a glimpse of the ghost who dwells on this road, you will be surrounded by the memories of hundreds of departed souls, which include famous Missourians Kate Chopin, Tennessee Williams, and Dred Scott. This apparition, known as Hitchhiker Annie, is sometimes seen on this street. On various occasions, people have picked her up in their cars, only for her to disappear during the ride. According to one story, a man picked up a woman wearing a white dress on the road, went to a dance with her, and during the car ride to her home she vanished. When he visited the house, he found an old woman who explained that the girl was her daughter who had died years ago.
