The idea of a World Wide Flash Mob was meant to be a fun “opposite” of a mega-event: all the cool aspects of a geocaching event, crammed into 30 minutes of excitement. An added dimension is represented by the letters "WW" - World Wide - these events occur across the planet on the same day at (mostly) the same time! These caching events are intended to bring geocachers together in a creative way, as well as introduce others (newbies) to the hobby.
For our part in the WWFM XIII, we will be gathering Saturday, June 4th, around 9:45 a.m. at the Harry and David Baseball Fields where the Medford Rogues play ball. I have spoken with a representative from the team, and we will be having the mascot "Rowdy" joining us for our Flash Mob event!! The plan is to come together at the stadium dressed in your favorite baseball team attire. This can be jerseys, shirts, whatever you'd like! So we will arrive decked out in baseball gear, get together inside the stadium, and right around 10:00 we will join together to sing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame." After we sing our song and snap a few pics, we will dissipate to the parking lot where we can continue chatting and mingling as we perform a little mini-CITO in the parking lot and hand out a few awards to some deserving cachers.
This event is meant to be something super simple, super quick, and super fun! If you have any questions, please feel free to message Socks4 and he will answer them to the best of his abilities.
