NT Birling Gap Geocache Traditional Cache

This cache will take you up onto the chalk downland of Belle Tout, a site of diverse wildlife habitats including heathland, chalk grassland and scrub. Looking across the valley from the cache location you can see the coastguard cottages and Birling Gap National Trust site, and the white cliffs of the Seven Sisters beyond.

The geocache is located along a public footpath and is accessible at all times, free of charge. If you choose to park at the Birling Gap car park and are not members of the National Trust, there is a charge. The cache is not far from the footpath and hidden under camouflage, but please be careful of uneven and hilly ground including hidden rabbit holes, prickly gorse, and stinging nettles. Be aware that there are snakes living on our hillside. Please replace any camouflage for the next hunter.

• Check the weather forecast and wear weather appropriate clothing

• The hills can be steep and uneven, so take care when walking along the footpaths

• Stay away from cliff edges and the base of cliffs

• Check the tide times before walking along the beach

• Take your litter home with you
