Climb up the riverbank and enjoy nice view of extensive river bed of the Arakawa River. Opposite side of the river is Kawaguchi City of Saitama Prefecture.
Golf course lying in front of you is Akabane Golf Club. You may think it is public course but in fact it’s a historic membership club opened in 1957. It is used to be long distance course with total 6,905 yards. Especially the eighth hole was 600 yards long! It is not hard to imagine taking par in the eighth hole was difficult even for long hitters. The eighth hole at present is 513 yards long, total of 18 holes are 6,200 yards, par 72.

土手を登れば荒川の広い河川敷が広がる。川の向うに広がるは埼玉県の川口市。大変広々とした景色で気持ちが良い。
目の前には赤羽ゴルフ倶楽部のコースが広がる。河川敷のパブリックかと思いきや、1957年オープンと歴史のある会員制クラブ。オープン当時は、6,905ヤードもあり、特に8番は600ヤードもあるパー5だったとのこと。かなりの飛ばし屋でもパーを取ることは難しかったことを想像するに難くない。現在の8番は513ヤードであり、トータル6,200ヤード・パー72になっている。
