This cache is placed where it is so that folks can park their cars and walk through this memorial if they so choose, pondering our freedoms and remembering those who sacrificed their lives that we may pursue our goals, this one, being geocaching. It is a very well maintained and lovely area, with a huge tank, a wall of portraits and names of our native heroes, the fallen in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. The other option is to walk around the memorial along the peaceful stream toward the cache location.
The cache, as noted, is not directly inside the memorial. Follow the stream and use the coordinates to find it. The cache is a plastic camouflaged container containing a log book, pen, and souvenir trinkets for kids and perhaps something for adults, too. Once to the cache area, maneuvering for younger kids could be an issue due to the terrain.
