Weird Alaska Laws Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

AlasKen: Construction is still on going here and the interior still has a ways to go. Not comfortable bringing this one back online as it will be in the parking lot of the new tenants. Sad to let this one go though. Thanks to all whom visited!

Geocache Description:

Here are just 10 of the oddest laws in Alaska. I am sure there are plenty more though. To think that these may have actually happened in order for these laws to be put in place is just crazy!

Enjoy the hunt!

1.) It is illegal to whisper in someone's ear while they are moose hunting.

2.) Yawn and stretch! While it is legal to shoot bears, waking a sleeping bear for the purpose of taking a photograph is prohibited.

3.) It is considered an offense to feed alcoholic beverages to a moose. So just don't do it!

4.) This one is kind of obvious but just so you know, it's illegal to sell stun guns to children.

5.) Who doesn't love a good toot on a vuvuzela? Well guess what, if you're in Fairbanks, Alaska, don't even think about it! It’s illegal to blow a horn in a manner that disrupts the peace.

6.) It’s illegal to fatten up a sheep, cow, or pig within city limits... wow!

7.) Lock up those children! It’s a crime to speak so loud that you offend a sensitive person enough to make him/her leave in Fairbanks.

8.) I'm pretty sure this kid isn't old enough to carry... A person may only carry a concealed slingshot if that person has received the appropriate license.

9.) Dog grooming is illegal in Juneau!

10.) For the final and perhaps strangest of these wacky laws, it is considered an offense to push a live moose out of a moving airplane.
