Geocache Description:

WELCOME TO A GEOCACHE OF SPRING FLINGS PAST

The cache you are seeking was originally spotted at the COG 2006 Spring Fling that was held at Lake Murray just south of Ardmore, OK. The creator was going for a fake rock cache but when he took it out of the mold he was using, it settled a bit to look more like a turtle! Once the concrete hardened he then painted it to look like a turtle, atached a length of chain to it, then attached a length of fishing line with a bobber to that...and chucked it in the lake! If memory serves, not very many found it that weekend! LOL. At the end of the weekend, the caches were auctioned off to raise money for the local Boy Scout troop that provided some meals that weekend and I was lucky enough to obtain this one.

In the intervening decade, it has traveled to California and back and been stored in a corner of the garage much to my wife's chagrin. Again, LOL. When I signed up for Spring Fling 2016, I figgured what better time than now to resurect it! I gave it a quick cleaning, a fresh paint job, and have placed it for all to find. Originally, it was a temporary cache for the crew attending Spring Fling 2016 to find and then to be published as a permanent cache.

I hope you enjoy finding this and seeing a bit of COG history!
