Geocache Description:

When I first thought of this series, I thought it would  be easy.  Just make a list of my favorite children's books and find a place to hide a cache.  I didn't realize I had so many favorites.  I narrowed the list down.  Still too many so I decided to feature picture books.  Most of the books in this series are favorites that I've read to children when I worked in the library at an elementary school.

This is the last geocache in the Children's Lit series.  There are so many fantastic books that I'd like to share but I don't want to go beyond Midland to place them!

THE END written by David LaRochelle and Richard Egielski

This book is so much fun, it has colorful pictures and begins with, "The End."

"And they all lived happily every after."

"And they all lived happily ever after because...the soggy knight fell in love with the clever princess."

The story is told backwards and includes a princess, a knight, a dragon, bunnies, a flying teacup and a hungry giant.

When you get to the last two pages, you will read, "Once upon a time a clever princess decided to make a big bowl of lemonade."

When I would read this to a class, they would always want me to read it again from back to front, but it never seemed to sound right. So enjoy the story, from "The End" to "Once upon a time."  Answer the question and plug in the correct number to find out where the cache is hidden.

Why wouldn't the dragon stop crying?

? =

3 = One hundred bunny rabbits had hopped into his cave.

4 = The lemons were gone.

5 = The cook threw a pot at him.

6 = The giant threw a temper tantrum.
