Geocache Description:

This is a 25 cache power trail of black & camo bison tubes just off a paved path.when finding them just twist and remove the log, when placing back in the tube place log in the top twist first and then it will fit to the bottom ( for the newer geocachers), BYOP, and always place the tube back where you found it, as you found it . THANKS

******************** RICHMOND AVE POWER TRAIL ******************** This Cache was inspired by the BLACK DIAMOND trail in NJ. Although I have to say that I hated bison tube finds, the BLACK DIAMOND changed my mind (that is how thoroughly I enjoyed it). What to know about the RICHMOND AVE POWER TRAIL. Even though you can start the actual trail from many directions THE RICHMOND AVE POWER trail will start at Park Drive North & Gary Place (There is parking all along the residential street right off the trail), BRING WATER AND COMFORTABLE SNEAKERS! Its a hike!!!!!! June 2nd 2014, the ground was broke for this beautiful trail that connects the north and south shores (3.3 miles). Along the way you will be able to take in nature as well as urban living. You will see Blue jays, cardinals, rabbits, dear as well as MANY MANY MANY MUGGLES!!! SO USE YOUR STEALTH! Along this trail you will pick up the busiest avenue in Staten Island (Richmond Avenue). As you find your caches you will pass many stores and restaurants, if your doing the trail all at once you might want to stop in one, and make reservations at a restaurant for after you find all the caches. One of the big things you will see is the Mall....... (Brief History) What we know as the Mall, in the 1926 was an airport , built by George Schaff who founded Richmond Airways. Sometime in the 30's became Donovan-Hughes Airport. The airport was sold in 1952 and a racetrack was built along with a golf range ( Illegal flights still took place with one plane landing wheels up), there was even a drive in movie theater. The ("BIG BOX") Mall ground was broke in 1970 and the grand opening in 1973. So, while on your walk pondering the next cache, glance over and imagine Bi-planes, Sessners and other aircraft landing and taking off ( I did!). Okay, now for the important information about the cache...... I gave this power trail a 3.5 difficulty rating, but be advised that some will be a 1.5 and others a 3.5. So I graded it according to the overall hike, MUGGLE FACTOR, and the most difficult find. All the caches will be along the trail near or just off the trail, except for #6. Which will take you off the trail just for a bit ( Be mind full when crossing streets). My GPS was spot on on some and on others it would jump from 5-20ft off ( So keep that in mind as well). This is my first GEOCACHE so please let me know how you liked it in your posts...... PLEASE NO PICTURES OF THE HIDES..... Pictures of the logs are cool as well as anything you see along your hike just not the actual hiding spot. Thanks and ENJOY!!!! CONGRATS ON FTF: Looking4secrets. STF: SynDaLog. TTF: (party) BigA800, IMSpider, The Orr Knights & JimmyG.
