Geocache Description:

At the published co-ordinates you will found a white milepost, originally placed in 1743 and showing the distance to Hyde Park (XII Miles)

Now it is hard to imagine this in its original setting of relatively quiet country lanes.

Go back even further and you find out that this was the Roman Road to Silchester.

Whilst admiring this post that has stood here for over 270 years, behind you you will find a much more modern piece of street furniture. A lamp post.

On the lamppost you will see a sticker stating the lamppost number STAINES RD/abc

And a number to  call for Faults and Enquiries 020 8dbe faaa

The final cache can be found at

N51 27.(c-e)(b-c)(a)

W000 24.(c)(d+f)(b-f-f)

Now the point of this cache is to get you to visit and admire (because of it's age) this milestone, not to make you feel awkward or conspicuous retrieving a cache in a high muggle and overlooked location. Therefore to follow are some very specific instructions / hint on where the cache is, when you reach the final GZ, so you can retrieve it quickly and stealthily without bringing notice to yourself, or the cache.

Take a seat facing the road on the lower one. The cache is to your right, attached to back of the largest one that is also the one in the corner, and it is just below the horizontal at ankle level.

You are looking for a homemade magnetic micro.

Happy Hunting.

Congratulations sueklesel on FTF
