Equestrianism made its debut at the 1900 Games in Paris. It disappeared until 1912 but has appeared in every Summer Olympics since. The current Equestrian events are Dressage, Eventing and Jumping. Equestrian disciplines and the equestrian component of the Modern Pentathlon are the only Summer Olympic events that involve animals. The horse is considered as much an athlete as the rider.
Germany has won the most equestrian medals with 46 and Canada has captured six medals including a gold and a silver at the 2008 Games in Beijing.
The cache should be an easy find near a place that could very well produce a future Olympic ‘athlete’.
