Samuel Snowden Home AKA Snow Hill Manor. Originally built 1754 and went through fires. The present mansion is circa 1798-1801. A small porch covers the double doorway. Old initials are carved into the face bricks, including “G W 1786”. These are attributed to George Washington as it is known that Martha Washington stayed in this home during the Revolution. (William G Cook 1976, Montpelier & the Snowden Family.)
