Bird SNAP
Come for a drive to Gluepot Reserve, stay for the day or stay for the weekend.
BEFORE heading off the main highway, as Gluepot Reserve is quite a distance on dirt/gravel roads, please check their website at www.gluepot.org for entry conditions, road conditions, and where (and when) best to see your favourite bird species. There maybe an entry fee, but there is certainly camping fees involved if you choose to stay overnight.
Unfortunately we did not see too many birds when here, which was the middle of the day in mid-April.
There are numerous bird hides around the reserve, along with reasonable tracks suitable for all types of transport, including bikes (not motorbikes). The Reserve is not available to '4WD enthusiasts' and in fact they may close the Reserve at short notice if there is enough rain to make the tracks even slightly sticky! Bad driving etiquette will not be tolerated in the reserve either, and you will be asked to leave. ie driving too fast and not observing the slow points to minimise the dust generated around the hides.
Have fun and post any SNAPS of wildlife you see on your visit to Gluepot Reserve.
The cache is not far from the Grasswren Hide, you should be out of sight. It is a painted 750ml container in the base of a stump, please re-cover well. Beware most muggles here have binoculars! lol We did notice field cameras at various locations also, probably to capture footage of the wildlife, but they will see YOU too! :-)
