I love to visit this spot with geodog, a spot to sit and enjoy a nice outlook while you sign the log. There is a series of letterbox caches along Muriwai Beach that require a 4WD or a long walk, if you can get to them they are well worth doing, this one is a short walk from the carpark and close to some nice caches.
Traditionally a letterbox hybrid pays homage to an older style of cache that dates back to the halcyon years of cachings origins. It would require a series of clues collected from people's letterboxes and ultimately end up at a 'letterbox' that contained a unique stamp. In the early days cachers would keep their own log-book and collect these unique stamps from their finds, and leave their own personal stamps as 'signatures' in the logbooks of the letterboxes. This is just a variation on the original theme, there are no clues to collect other than using your GPS to find GZ, and then if you choose, take an imprint of the enclosed stamp for your posterity, and leave a "stamp" as your signature.
