Theme: "The Flash" Flash Mob!
WWFM-XIII Heckscher Park, Huntington, NY
This event will be one small part of the WWFM-XIII (World Wide Flash Mob event). This event and all others around the globe in their respective time zones will begin precisely at 1pm EDT on Saturday, June 4th, 2016.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1) The theme is the superhero The Flash! Bring or wear any Flash-themed t-shirt (or costume, if you so desire), or a solid red t-shirt.
2) To keep up with any news or changes, set the pages for "notifications" so you'll be notified via email. Check this page the morning of June 4th to confirm all information.
3) There is no official Geocaching souvenir for this event this year.
This Flash Mob event will last exactly 30 minutes. You MUST be present and sign a log sheet DURING this time to claim this event.
For those unfamiliar with Flash Mobs - it's a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, and then quickly disperse.
ITINERARY:
12:45PM - 12:59PM - Participants wait paitently and/or stroll around the area. STAY AWAY from ground zero until the signal is given. Best as you can, act like a muggle, pretend not to know each other or give any indication that something is about to happen. At 12:59pm slowly begin towards ground zero.
1:00PM - Music will play, everyone will converge right at ground zero. Log slips will be handed out. Please bring your own pen or pencil. Sign individual log slip and drop it in the collection box. Feel free to "swag swap" or trade trackables.
1:08PM - Group photo takes place. Listen carefully and follow all directions given by the photographer quickly as to where to line up.
1:15PM - The FTF name drawing will be held.
1:16PM - 1:28PM - Snack time and time for socializing.
1:29PM - One minute warning called "It is now 1:29PM!" Prepare to leave. Organizers seal up log container for transport.
1:30PM - The Flash Mob is now over! You may meet elsewhere, if desired.
This event will take place rain or shine - please come prepared for the elements.
We would love to have a general idea of how many cachers (and guests) to expect. Please let us know if you will be attending the event.
There is some parking along the north side of the park and street parking all over. Additionally, there are parking lots (municipal lots are free), as well as metered parking ($1 per hour along Main Street and New York Avenue; 50 cents per hour along side streets and outer areas of New York Avenue).
