Fontana Traditional Cache

Fontana, California, known as the "City of Action' population 190,356, elev. 1,237', was incorporated on 6/25/1952. Fontana was home of the largest steel mill west of the Mississippi River, Kaiser Steel, until closing. The Kaiser Permanente HMO came about from Henry Kaiser's push to provide healthcare for the steelworkers. The abandoned steel mill was used as filming location for Terminator 2 and is now home of the Auto Club Speedway.

This cache was hidden as part of The San Bernardino County Cities Challenge. See the "Related Web Page" link above for more info. This version of Fontana replaces the original Fontana cache, which is now archived. If you have previously found Fontana and retrieved the clue in an ongoing quest to complete the challenge, you do not have to find this Fontana. If you did not previously retrieve the clue, you will need to find it in this one. The clue in Fontana has not changed.

I do take pride in all of my hides. If there are any issues with this cache or it is in need of maintenance, please do let me know. When logging your find, please do not use stickers out of consideration for others; they simply take up too much space and make log sheets difficult to fold or roll up. Please hide the container at least as well as you found it. Please use über stealth and patience when retrieving and replacing the cache, as this area can be very busy during the day.
