Geocache Description:

This is a field puzzle. To find the final location and sign the log, you MUST go to the posted coordinates. Once there, you will discover something that will lead you to the final. (Stage one is not the final, do not sign any pieces of the puzzle, please.) No special equipment is required. Please be sure to leave all pieces at the posted coordinates intact for the next seeker, so they too may be successful in their hunt to the end.

The food synthesizer was a common receptacle used aboard 23rd century starships and starbases for synthesizing foods and beverages.  An evolution over the older protein resequencer, these food receptacles served as a supplement to the ship's chef and were predecessors to the 24th century replicators.  Unlike replicators, where food orders were made by voice command, food orders given to food synthesizers were made by the program cards inserted into a slot.  Food synthesizers were located in numerous locations throughout Constitution-class starships, including the transporter room.
