Still getting my feet wet with placing caches, and I noticed a gap along the lower Meramec trail, so I thought I'd fill it in.
This cache is locater at the Hwy55 end of the trail. Its about a 1/2 mile walk down the paved trail and then about 200ft down a well used dirt path, with one small hill near the end. The cache is a preform and is located high enough that it shouldn't be bothered by floods, as long as there not as bad as the last one. If it seems unreachable, there are numerous cut logs that can be used to gain that extera height. Nothing real exciting here except a nice view of the river. Cache only contains a log so BYOP.

Special permission to hide caches in St. Louis County parks is NOT needed as long as the Groundspeak rules are followed. "Blanket Permission" has been worked out in advance with the park service. DO NOT CALL THE PARK as they cannot handle the calls. The Groundspeak cache reviewer does need to know exactly how and where the caches are hidden and what type of containers are used. The geocaching liaisons will notify the park service of new caches. Remember NO AMMO BOXES or PVC PIPE caches. |
