Geocache Description:

A fun find for kids!

Easy to get to GZ. Parking very close. The container is camo

Ice King is in honor of my grandpa John. He coached figure skating for 35 years locally to hundreds of students, was national pairs champion, skated in the 1948 Winter Olympics with Dick Button and skated in Worlds. His ability to coach with humor and knowledge of the sport made him a world class coach. I have also created a multi cache called "Ice Queen" at the Edmonds Marina in honor of my figure skating grandma Ginny as well. Being able to honor them both and carrying on their legacy in this way means so much to our family. They were very special people and loved by so many! Not only did my grandparents share a passion for family, people, entertaining, skating and Edmonds, but boating. My grandpa spent many years on his boat fishing the Puget Sound. I am so happy that the near by benches offer a spot for us to look to the NW at Possession Bay where their ashes rest so they can glide through the water together. This is made a little easier for them as my Grandma's figure skates are at the bottom of the Sound! Thank you so much for reading my tribute. I hope you can stop for a moment, enjoy the view and think about all that you have to be thankful for.
