Charlie enjoyed poking around in this beautiful pinewood forest, so much so that his big, old, clumsy self wandered off and didn't resurface again for 3 days, alive, well and only slightly dehydrated. Clean as a whistle, he even smelled like his last shampoo, while a group of us, who had been on a 3-day long search for him, were covered in mud, sores, bruises, scratches and bandaids, torn coats and jeans. Charlie was with our family for 2 more years, before dying peacefully at home one month short of his 12th birthday, a VERY old age for a mastiff. These are his woods and I've placed this geocache in his memory. His huge, calm, soothing presence will always be missed.

Recommended: Mud boots or hiking shoes (dependent on the weather), fluorescent vest during deer hunting season, bug spray and care when navigating the branches. They can hurt. Parking is available all along Catob, including on a 2-track.
