In an effort to mitigate potential flooding in a nearby subdivision, the Town of Rothesay developed this huge basin to collect water during periods of heavy rainfall. Runoff surface water is diverted from the adjacent residential areas, into the huge basin where it collects during storms, and drains away from the nearby homes during and after the storm. A walking trail has been developed by the Town around the basin. Canada Geese have adopted the basin, and can be seen in varying numbers, depending on the season, in the water and grasses of the basin. Please BYOP. Congratulations to 7TNT and Team BikeFast for being FTF.
