Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a combined effort by Richmond and Hampton Roads geocachers to place geocaches along the Virginia Capitol Trail.

If you're heading east along the trail towards Jamestown with Highway 5 on your right as you approach the cache, you'll see that the trail veers to the left, away from the road. The cache is hanging on a small chain off the backside of the first tree you come to on your right. When you reach around the tree for the cache, you'll see below you the end of a fallen utility pole. If you follow your gaze the along the pole, you'll eventually come to its stump, which was nearly perfectly severed with one chop. One. While Sven, who is now a Journeyman Lumberjack, still brings superior chopping skill, unbridled enthusiasm, and great jokes and anecdotes about Scandanavia to LLU 3041, he started off with less than desired skills for differentiating between trees and utility poles. It is he who triggered LLU 3041's development of a Utility Pole Identification Training module. Receiving critical acclaim from local utilities companies, this training module is now used by LLUs around the globe, receiving similar approval from utilities companies and commissions from Maine to California, from Paris to Jakarta. In LLU circles, we call Sven's errant chop the "Swing Heard 'Round the World."
