The World Wide Flash Mob Event:
Dozens of events all around the world, coordinated to happen at the same time to bring together Geocachers and maybe introduce others to Geocaching.
You’ve heard of MEGA events? This is the opposite. FLASH MOBS have gathered for other reasons in the past (see Wikipedia Definition). But these specific ones are for Geocaching (see WWFM Info ).
At precisely 6.00pm on 4th June 2016 you are invited to join us on the Church Green in front of St. Mary Church of England Church in the centre of Witney to take part in a flash mob event. The event will last 30 minutes.
The theme of the event is hats - so, if possible, please bring one along. Any hat will do from bobble hats to Santa hats and even grandma's bonnet (I’m sure you get the idea)!
Prior To The Event: Drive to the parking areas near the co-ordinates. Amble towards the Green and pretend you are a muggle. ACT LIKE YOU DON'T KNOW ANYONE ELSE. Keep your hat hidden away from view until the event starts.
At exactly 6:00 PM: A whistle will be blown at GZ. This signifies the start of the event and everyone should at this moment pull out their hat, put it on and head for GZ. If you would like to, have your caching name written down on a piece of paper to drop into the event box as you will not have time to pass around a log book. There will be time to exchange Travel Bugs and Geocoins.
The flash mob will last exactly 30 minutes giving time for a group photo and one name will be pulled out of the box and declared FTF then at 6:30pm everyone can take off their hats leaving any muggles wondering what on earth just happened! :-) After that all those that wish to can move to a local hostelry.
