Geocache Description:

A neolithic wonder .

One of the wonderful things about the United Kingdom is the layer upon layer of human history.  This small area of Sarsen stones which of course were the source of  stones for Stonehenge contains a beautiful example of neolithic human interaction.  So before you hunt down the cache spend some time and look out for the polissoir stone just below Aethelferthe's Stone the pyramid shaped stone. Aethelferthe's Stone marks the boundary of 3 Saxon estates and was deliberately stood up right as a marker. Please note it would be appreciated if cachers could bring a piece of paper to add to the cache as currently we are in NZ with no chance of returning to the uk.
