Geocache Description:

No-one can say for certain how Paradise got its name. Some say it gets its name from the Paradise duck, other say it is for the breathtaking scenery.

Paradise is a lovely 20km drive from Glenorchy. 8km is on a sealed road and the last 12km is unsealed. The road is suitable for all cars but take care on the gravel.

Paradise is located just past Diamond Lake and underneath Mount Earnslaw.  Aracadia House can be seen for the road at Paradise.  Aracadia is Greek for Paradise and the farm homestead was orginally built in 1906 by Joesph Cyprian Fenn to attract his fiancee to New Zealand.

You are looking for a small container which is located at the base of a fence post. Please return the rock to keep the cache covered. There is no pen or pencil in the cache. Enjoy the views from here and watch out for sandflies!
