Geocache Description:

On June 15th I came here to change the log to this Cache and when I did my life changed!

On June 15th I was maintaining a cache of mine that needed only a fresh log sheet. I parked my car and started walking towards the cache when I hear some squawks that sounded like a cry for help. I walked over and in the 6 inch thick grass was a Parrot! which I found out later to be a Blue Crown Conure to be exact. It seemed in distress and I was able to wrap it in my coat and take it home. Not sure how he got there but I was going to try to find it's owner or try to nurse it back to health, It had a good meal and a good nights sleep and the next day it was ok in the morning and even had a shower, that it enjoyed, but he had some balance problems and could not fly.... Wings clipped? did not know at the time. By mid afternoon though poor Cache took a turn for the worse and was not well, we called the Humane society and they came to take the poor little guy to the Vet..... Turns out his injuries were too severe and Cache needed to be put to sleep. Vet said the wings were not clipped, but rather the bird had suffered from injuries. He was with us only for about 18 hours but I feel that at least he got a good last meal and some companionship in it's final day. I contemplatedarchiving this hide and making a new deication hide in the same spot but then I saw the GC code of this original cache which is GC6"GRN"F, the short form for Green, and he was Green and the "F" could be for Fred so I had to leave alone, other than changing the title and the description. I will always remember this spot to where I helped my fine feathered friend....
