Join us for a gathering of local geocachers in the name of grilling and, of course, chilling. Our event is free and family-friendly and comes complete with a few small giveaways, 9-Square in the Air, Cornhole, music, and fun. GZ is at the Alumni Pavilion on the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg campus.
We encourage you to bring:
- The kids and pets (on leashes, please).
- A potluck dish and/or drinks to share. We'll provide the burgers and dogs. Let us know below what you'll bring.
- Raffle prizes – if you have something that would make a good prize, we’d love for you to bring it along as a small offering. .
There is no shortage of geocaches on our campus and nearby in the community. There may also be a few released in the surrounding area on cache day.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
- 12 p.m. - ARRIVAL & SIGN-IN
- 12:30 p.m. - LUNCH
- 1-3 p.m. - GEOCACHING OLYMPICS (a fun series of activities in the spirit of friendly competition)
- 3-3:30 p.m. - RAFFLE PRIZE DRAWINGS
- 3:30-5:30 p.m. - Lawn Games
For those of you who haven't hiked the Bell Trail on campus, be sure to take some time to enjoy the moderate hike while you're in the area. Trail can take 1-2 hours to hike and find all caches. Would be a good thing to do prior to or after the event.
