Geocache Description:

This is the former site of RCAF Station Aylmer, home to No. 14 Service Flying Training School (SFTS) as well as may other schools.  Open from 1941-1961 this was one of many airfields used in the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan during WWII.  This is the 75th Anniversary of the BCATP and the first of the caches I hope to place to commemorate it.  If you are luck you will be here while one or more of the Harvards are out and flying from nearby Tillsonburg.  

No longer the sight of vintage aircraft this location is now home to the Ontario Police College and the Aylmer Wildlife Management Area.  Bring your cameras and binoculars for a chance at seeing some beautiful birds.  The day this cache was placed a bald eagle could be seen in a tree across the pond.  Enjoy.
