The CCLP had such a great time hosting last summer's Bubblegum Olympics geocaching event, that they could not wait to begin planning another....and didn't. Today, we proudly unveil the CCLP Firefly Olympics!!!!
Come one, come all and compete in the CCLP's Firefly Olympics!! Five fantastically impartial and pleasingly simple contests in which every single attendee can compete on an even playing field.....for Firefly Gold!!! Individual event winners will be crowned, as well as an all-around champion who will walk away with the title of Grand and Golden Firefly Olympic champion!!
The Firefly Olympic event will go from 7:00PM-10:00PM and will occur on the property of the CCLP, home of the most highly decorated multi cache in the state of Indiana. The Quest for the Chest(GC49RHO) will be open for business during the event. The five contests will operate from 7:00PM-9:30PM. Winners will be announced and celebrated at 10:00PM in front of a backdrop of thousands upon thousands of fireflies!!! This natural phenomenon, which occurs only when the field behind us is planted in soybeans, has astounded us since we moved here and is truly a powerful experience we have grown to love. We chose the evening setting for this event so we could share this with the geocaching community. Only rain can stop the fireflies.
Before or after you determine your Firefly Olympic destiny in the five contests, go out and find the 8 new firefly themed caches hidden for the event.......because if you do....you will have another date with destiny.....a date with the CCLP Prize Wheel.....Wheel.....Wheel.....Wheel!!!! That's right, back again and stacked with glorious prizes donated by all the finest geocaching organizations and players, it is an experience not to be missed! Finally, know that you may very well end up shaking your bushy tail in delight at the sight of the CCLP's brand new, extremely comely, and smoking hot seventh generation tag "CCLP's Firefly Olympics 2016", created specifically for this grand occasion.
So come one and come all to the southern Ohio-Indiana borderlands for an evening of geotalk, TBs, tag swapping, sparkler magic and Firefly Olympic glory! The caches will be published the morning of the event. Attendees may park their vehicles in our driveway and yard per the attached diagram. We will provide water, sodas, facilities and of course, FIREFLIES and FUN!! The event will end at 10:30PM but attendees are welcome to linger and fraternize around a mighty bonfire if they wish. And by the way, this cache does work to fulfill the New Mandate of 2014 to fill the Connersville-Richmond-Oxford-Brookville quadrilateral with quality caches for the world.
