Biesterwied

Nabij het Schildmeer staat sinds een aantal jaren een uitkijktoren, die u mooi de gelegenheid bied om de omgeving eens van boven te bekijken. De toren staat, in een, in het jaar 2000 ingericht natuurgebied. Het grootste rietmoeras van Groningen, waar vogelsoorten als roerdomp, baardmannetje en lepelaar zich prima thuisvoelen.

'Biesterwied' ten noorden van het meer (natuurgebied Tetjehorn Duurswold). Biesterwied ("verst liggende land") verwijst naar de boerderij die hier vroeger stond.

" Biester Wied " north of the lake ( natural Tetjehorn Duurswold ) . Biester Wied ( " remotest land" ) refers to the farm that once stood here .

In het kader van de regeling Vitaal Platteland is door het Staatsbosbeheer en Natuur en Landschap Duurswold een projectvoorstel gemaakt en subsidie aangevraagd. Uiteindelijk is het project goedgekeurd en het resultaat ziet u op bovenstaande foto. Dit is de uitkijktoren in Tetjehorn, in de Westerpolder staat net zo'n schoonheid beide gemaakt van inlands hout van de Douglas Spar.Vanaf deze torens heeft men een prachtig uitzicht, sommige langsvliegende vogels bekijk je op de rug, het landschap van beide gebieden is mooi, maar dat het zo mooi is moet je ervaren en de agrarische natuurvereniging kan vanaf de uitkijktorens hun koeien controleren. Proficiat Staatsbosbeheer met deze aanwinst.

As part of the scheme Living Countryside by the State Forest and Nature and Landscape Duurswold made a project proposal and applied for grants. Ultimately, the project has been approved and the results you see in the picture above. Vanaf de toren, waarop een complete gezelschap makkelijk terecht kan,heeft u een schitterende kijk op het hele gebied, tot ver over het Schildmeer. Een sperwer, grote zilverreiger, wolken spreeuwen en koperwieken, wat kolganzen die overvliegen. Niet alleen kijk je van hier biester wied, Biesterwied is ook de naam van het stuk land aan het Schildmeer. Dat land hoorde bij de boerderij die vroeger stond op de kleirug waarop nu de toren gebouwd is.

From the tower , in which a complete company can easily go , you have a beautiful view of the whole area , far across the Schildmeer . A hawk , great egret , clouds of starlings and copper wicks, some white-fronted geese flying overhead . Not only do you look from here Biester weeding , Biester Wied is also the name of the piece of land on the Schild . That land belonged to the farm that once stood on the kleirug which is now the tower is built.
