Geocache Description:

This will be a roughly 1600 feet long walk. It will hopefully be enjoyable and a fun geocache experience. Point Pleasant has such a broad history and this is only a taste of it. I tried to fit in as many key factors of our history as possible, but feel free to explore and find out more about our past.

Please DO NOT try to retrieve the physical cache if there are people around the final coordinates where the container is located. As there are often LOTS of muggles around, please be careful when retrieving the cache.

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES!! The physical container is at

                                             N 38 51.ABC W 082 07.DEF

You must solve for the letters A, B, C, D, E, and F to complete the coordinates. You must also get an extra 3 numbers, X, Y, and Z, to access the cache. You will understand why you need the additional numbers once you see the final cache.

I recommend parking alongside the post office which is right next to the Lowe Hotel. From there, walk to obtain the remaining numbers.

*****************************

Waypoint 1:
A: Look at the plaque outside the Lowe Hotel. The last digit of the first year + 1 gives you "A".

Waypoint 2:
Z: Directly across the street is the Mothman Museum. Look up to the top of the building where it says Haynes. Take the last two digits of the date and minus 6 for "Z".

Waypoint 3:
B: Nearby is the Mothman statue. There is a small plate on the statue with the name of the artist along with the year. The last digit of that year will give you "B".

Waypoint 4:
C: As you walk along the floodwall, take a look at the awesome murals. The first person (statue) you will meet is Chief Cornstalk. The first digit of the year on him minus 1 will give you "C".

Waypoint 5:
D: Continue walking to the Daniel Boone statue. Take the second digit of the year on his statue and add 9 to get "D".

Waypoint 6:
E: Walk to the Mad Anne Bailey statue. The third digit of the year on this statue will give you "E".

Waypoint 7:
Y: At this waypoint, find the year Anne Bailey died. The last two digits minus 1 will give you "Y".

Waypoint 8:
F: William Christian commanded the Fincastle County Battalion. The first digit of the number of men the colonel commanded will give you "F".

Waypoint 9:
X: The day in October written on the Magazine at Tu Endie Wei will give you "X".
