Bell Canada has 20 cell towers in Muskoka designed to look like pine trees! Towering above their natural cousins, these metal giants with their fibreglass branches are 25 to 29 metres tall. The improved cell coverage this tower brought made it a DEFINITE favourite with Nathan. Before this tower was installed, he would have to stand out in the middle of the road to get a signal - not too convenient for the young generation who is so dependent on their phones!
This is your chance to see one of these friendly giants in person. Located on Winder's Bay Road, it is a 5 minute hike up a VERY steep path . (Longer than 5 minutes if you stop to admire the view (or gasp for breath! ) hahahahaha) Even though the gate is sometimes open, I speak from experience when I say do NOT attempt to drive up in a 2WD. You might get up in a 4WD but I still suggest the hike up the hill.
Please BYOP.
