This is my first night cache..... I've wanted to place this for some time and with the encouragement of Steve from Steve & Missy.... we got it done. You should park in the crabapple picnic area. Finding this cache will take probably a hour or so to walk the trail, find the cache and get out. The Park closes at 11pm daily so make sure you have plenty of time to find the cache and get out. You will need a bright flashlight and you will be following an undeveloped but very visible trail. The trail is flat and can be very wet and muddy at times. There are also many tree roots crossing the trail so please be careful where you walk...... and I would suggest wearing boots. The night we placed the cache there was about 100' of mud right before you got to the cache area....
You will start at the water fountain and continue down the trail looking for the white fire tacks along the way. The fire tacks will be 6' to 10' above ground. You will come to several trail choices along the way..... at the first split you need to take the right path...... then at the second split, you will take the left path. A little further down the trail you need to look for the triple white tacks.... this means you are close to the cache..... there is also a peace sign near the cache....... If you spot the peace sign you are within 20' of the cache...... look for the Ghost tree. the arrow will point to the cache..........Once you've found the cache, pay the ghost...... When you want to get out (if the ghost didn't get you) look for the orange fire tacks. You can try to go back the way you came in, but there will not be any tacks to help you along......I've placed the fire tacks close enough so you shouldn't get lost. This trail is NOT bicycle friendly...and can be muddy most of the time. Wear hiking shoes or boots and grab a walking stick at the trailhead. Then just stay on the trail and have fun ....
