HISTORY: Blood School was originally on Blood Road just north of Brocker, sitting up on a hill and a part of the Price property. It was most likely a crude structure called a shanty. A new one was built just west of this cache at 1781 Brocker Road. It's a non-typical style for a schoolhouse. After the school closed, students went to Lapeer or Oxford Schools. Today the school is a private residence. Blood School and Blood Road was named for Norman B. Blood, who married Elizabeth R. Price. Norman was Metamora township supervisor in the 1850's.
URBAN LEGEND: Due to the road being called Blood and being a back country road, it has many urban legends attached to it. One of them being there's a grave under the road. There's tales of body snatching ghosts, car wrecks and vampires. All can be chalked up to the silliness of teenagers trying to scare one another. The street sign gets stolen all the time. One thing you should be cautious of when driving down Blood Road is deer. They'll jump right out in front of you, but be careful, they could be of the undead kind! Muwahahaha! Okay, cache on!
