Geocache Description:

Grabbing a few caches when I noticed this church sign! I know a song that would fit perfectly. Song title series #66 is from the TV produced music group, The Monkees' "Pleasant Valley Sunday". Written by the music duo, Gerry Goffen/Carole King and released July 1967.

The most famous version of the song was recorded by The Monkees in 1967. The song lyrics was a social commentary about creature comforts, and social status while living in the suburbs. "Keeping up with the Joneses". This became one of The Monkees most successful singles. Pleasant Valley Sunday peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #11 on the U.K. charts.

An interesting NOTE: Not many realize is that Mike Nesbeth of The Monkees was a singer/songwriter before joining the group. He wrote, "Different Drum" in 1965 and was later recorded September 1967 by The Stone Poneys featuring Linda Ronstadt!

Congratulations to The 5R's for their FTF!
