Geocache Description:

This multi-cache is a small tribute to my favorite movies, and the best character in them.

Star Wars, Directed and written by George Lucas, was released on the 25th of May 1977, to much fan appreciation and critical acclaim. This movie set into motion a mighty film juggernaut that will forever be part of our national heritage. Seeing the success of his new space opera, George quickly got the green light from 20th Century Fox to make a sequel. For his next movie he enlisted the writing talents of Leigh Brackett and Lawrence Kasdan. Additionally the Director Irwin Kershner was asked if he could bring his skills to the table. After years of anticipation on the 21st of May 1980, The Empire strikes back was released. The story was not finished, though; George still had one more movie planned. In writing the final installment George chose to only share his typewriter with Lawrence Kasdan, and gave Richard Marquand the nod to direct. Finally on the 25th of May 1983, The Return of the Jedi was released to an eager and expectant population.

These movies have been part of my life since I was a child. I have always had the toys and t-shirts. I collect the merchandise, argue over plot points, and of course watch the Saga whenever I have the chance. Let us all celebrate today and every day that Star Wars is still part of our culture.

In order to find all the stages of this cache, you will need to use the release dates of the original trilogy to complete the co-ordinates for the next stage. Each stage will have the co-ordinates you need to add the release date to, and each stage is in chronological order.

For the North coordinates add the day and month to the final four digits. For the West coordinates add the year to the final four digits.

Example:   25 May 1977 would be 25/05/1977. So when you find the first stage if the coordinates read N 41 34.567 W 89 45.321 you would add 2505 to the North and 1977 to the west giving you N 41 37.072 W 89 47.298.

If you have any problems with this cache or the coordinates, please send me a message, I will be happy to help you on your way.

Happy Caching, and may the Force be with you.
